Emma of a Victorian Romance…Pierced?!

So remember my grail list I posted ages ago? I said Revy (Alter) is the last older figure I wanted. I lied…there was another older figure I forgot to mention (yes besides Clayz Saber) and that figure is the Max Factory Emma. I saw her on eBay and I went for it, did I pay more then retail price for her? Sure did lol…how much more? I’m not telling! But I justified the price by telling myself that almost all decent figures these days seem to cost that much and I’d rather have this darling and classy Emma over a lot of the newer figures. Especially since it seems unlikely I’ll ever see another Emma figure released again.

Makoto (Kanon) Max Factory

This is Makoto from the game/anime Kanon, the figure is by Max Factory. I bought this figure at a time where I almost NEVER bought a figure of a character I didn’t know. In fact I didn’t even pre-order her! I saw her come into stock one day and her lovely flowing orange hair just caught my eye. Everything about her just made me smile, and into the cart she went! She sold out pretty quickly after I bought her too, so I was lucky. This was the figure that really made me start to keep an eye on Max Factory, and thank goodness too. Honestly everything Max Factory makes is just done with such great care and understanding of the characters that they may just be my favorite figure manufacturer!

Mikuru – Version 1 (Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) Max Factory

This is Mikuru from the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, the figure is by Max Factory (MF) and is the first of the 2 versions made of Mikuru by MF. I had started collecting the MF Haruhi ladies a bit late in the game and had already given up on getting her at a reasonable price. On eBay I saw nothing but auctions in the hundreds. Luckily MF was coming out with another cute version of Mikuru, so I resolved to just be content with that one. BUT when I got an offer for sale of $70 for this figure in new condition…how could I say no? That isn’t much more then her original retail price.

Last Haul of September!

The LAST Haul of September!! This haul is a lot larger then I had initially planned but ToysLogic had a buy one get one half off sale on all in stock figures and I splurged on 2 figures that I had considered just a bit too expensive to be on my pre-order lists…if you know the figure prices of all these figures you can probably guess which 2 right now. That One Piece flag is actually a beach towel, it’s a belated birthday gift for my boyfriend. I’ll probably never get a chance to use it myself since if I’m going to the beach that prob means he is coming too. A girlfriend that buys her boyfriend a Haruhi body pillow AND a One Piece towel? Aren’t the otaku men of the world just too jealous 😉 . I bought that towel and the Pinky at the bottom center from HLJ. I really liked the hair on that Pinky, was very retro, plus her main outfit is delightfully girlie. Not to mention Pinky figures are incredibly affordabe, she cost under $7.

Tsuruya (Max Factory) Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

This is Tsuruya by Max Factory, the character is from the anime/light novel The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. I currently seem to be collecting quite a few figures from this series. I think each Haruhi purchase will be my last and then some other figure company comes out with something else cute or unique from this series and I crumble. I have a willpower thats weaker then an Atelier-Sai figure on a hot day (ohohohoho what a clever figure joke I just made).

Ruca (Max Factory) AR Tonelico 2

This figure is of Ruca and is by Max Factory. Ruca is from the game AR Tonelico 2 for the PS2 which is made by Gust and is currently released in Japan. This game will be released in the U.S. by NIS America in December 2008. I played the first AR Tonelico game all the way through and I actually loved it. I was really fond of Misha from the first game and am disappointed no figures were made for the first game. Based on what I’ve read on AR Tonelico 2 this character (Ruca) is sort of Misha’s replacement. There are a lot of similarities in their appearance and personality…although Ruca wears a harp on her head, and I wasn’t sure how keen I was on that aspect of the character design. The harp is growing on me though, before I thought it looked like a dumb hat.
