I actually got this haul quite a while ago, ack! So behind! I did take pictures of all the figures from this haul but I’m going to spread them out over the next week of posts. It will probably be another month before I can have haul posts with pictures of each figure all at once because I’m packing so much stuff I probably won’t unwrap any of the figures between now and the move. Figures are the first thing I’m packing up too, my shelves are already only about 75% full compared to last week. Looks like I won’t be finishing Persona 3 anytime soon even though I’m close to the end, all my free time is spent packing/posting. Anyway this haul post will feature pictures of Riannon and Octavia by Kotobukiya and they’re from the video game Tears to Tiara.
First Haul of 2009
January 19, 2009
Now THIS is how you start off a year! I was really excited by this particular haul, had a lot of beauties and cuties. The lighting on the picture of the whole haul sucks because it was night by the time I got home and I was just SO EXCITED and ready to open them and place them on my shelves that I rushed. I’ve been collecting figures for over a year now and the sight of a haul like this still makes me act beside myself with excitment. Hopefully the pictures of each individual figure below will make up for this crummy one.
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Manga Review Blurb
November 28, 2008Somehow I doubt there are too many anime/manga fans out there that don’t somewhat know the plot summary of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya but…just in case…real quick.
Plot Summary
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is about a high school boy named Kyon (you see the series from his perspective) who as a kid (like most children) loved stories of aliens, ghosts, villains, etc…. And like all children when he grew up he was a bit disappointed to realize that such things do not actually exist. He has long since abandoned such childish fancies and contents himself with a normal life. But in high school he encounters an energetic, beautiful, and angry young girl named Haruhi Suzumiya who still has not given up on experiencing the paranormal in her lifetime! She announces to the class thath she has no interest in ordinary humans and that all aliens, espers, and futuremen should come and see her. Kyon accidentally befriends her and is forced to start a club with her, the SOS Brigade!
Blood Types
October 30, 2008
As I got more and more involved in manga I began to notice that in the character profile pages blood types were mentioned. The first time I saw it I thought the author was just being funny/cute about some irrelevant fact about the character. But soon I began noticing it in all my series. Although I raised an eyebrow at that random fact I never really bothered to look up why it was mentioned. I just thought that blood type was a physical characteristic that the Japanese liked to share and nothing more.
