My last haul post was March 3, 2009…have I not been buying anything since then? AHAHAHAHAHA my bf wishes I wasn’t! Nope I’ve continued getting my pre-orders in and a few fun impulse figures on top of it (not to mention a few dolls not pictured here). I’ve even (very recently) become experienced at purchasing off Yahoo Japan to get an item. I forgot to take pictures of my newest Manga, I COULD skip the manga but I really want to talk a bit about the content of a few of the series I’ve purchased recently. I’ll just throw them onto the end of my next haul. Also who is my new buddy? It’s not Mokona, although he was a fun extra surprise! You’ll see at the end of my post. So here we are, about 3 months of goodies! I haven’t opened them yet because I’m still unpacking and moving into my house, I’m going to put up some nice shelving for them after I wash the walls (yes the walls REALLY do need to be washed…I’m not just OCD in this case).
Haul Featuring Riannon and Octavia!
March 3, 2009I actually got this haul quite a while ago, ack! So behind! I did take pictures of all the figures from this haul but I’m going to spread them out over the next week of posts. It will probably be another month before I can have haul posts with pictures of each figure all at once because I’m packing so much stuff I probably won’t unwrap any of the figures between now and the move. Figures are the first thing I’m packing up too, my shelves are already only about 75% full compared to last week. Looks like I won’t be finishing Persona 3 anytime soon even though I’m close to the end, all my free time is spent packing/posting. Anyway this haul post will feature pictures of Riannon and Octavia by Kotobukiya and they’re from the video game Tears to Tiara.
Two Figures I Never Thought I’d Own…
February 25, 2009Clayz Saber (not the maid or bathing suit one) and Max Factory Shenhua. Remember how I had that grail list? Well the only reason these two figures weren’t on there were because I thought they were both beyond my reach completely (for what I was willing to pay). Shenhua often shows up on eBay paired off with the all expensive Revy, and even solo her price spikes pretty good. The Clayz Saber almost never shows up on eBay at all! There is always one listed at about $300 though. I got each one at $60 (so $120 total) WITH SHIPPING. I couldn’t have gotten better prices even if I had pre-ordered them!
How was this miracle possible? Well Kaiyouske is selling his entire collection at Tsuki-Board, he also advertised his sale once on DannyChoo. The above picture are the figures that remain in his collection for sale. I’m not a very trusting person on the internet but when I saw the positive feedback for him with a sale through him on How A Girl Figures I bought without hesitation. He is VERY honest and is asking more then reasonable prices on all the figures I inquired about. If he has a figure you desire I recommend you buy from him. Although I think I got the best two figures 🙂 but that’s just me and my personal tastes.
I’ll post many pictures of my two new ladies next week!
Pot Luck February Haul
February 18, 2009
Why pot luck? This haul is a combination of very different otaku objects that are edible, readable, playable, and stareable 🙂 . I got a haul real soon after this one and in my picture taking excitment my poor Rin Figma and Danboard Revoltech accidentally got skipped. But that’s ok, as much as I love posing Figmas the poses I love are pretty boring in comparison to what other bloggers do. Plus once I get to a pose I consider a “sweet spot” I don’t want to move it until I feel I’m ready for a change. I worry I won’t get the pose EXACTLY how I want it again. It’s almost like the whole point of Figmas and Revoltechs is lost on me 😛
First Haul of February
February 5, 2009This entire haul is one huge impulse buy, I’m so weak when it comes to my hobby. I came into some money and well…look what I did, I raided the sale section of my favorite figure store! I definitely have a figure addiction, I admit that to myself all the time but then the thought ends there. I never really think about trying to solve my addiction. I should note I’m not including any further pictures of the Fumie by Orchid Seed (in the upper left corner) because I did a whole photo shoot of her and will be posting her review soon.
Last Haul of January
January 27, 2009Usually my first picture is of all the figures in their boxes but I thought doing it this way looked much nicer. The picture of the pile of boxes is a bit further down the post. As you can see I’ve made use of that cloth I bought from Walmart, I actually used all 4 pieces as backgrounds in this haul. I’m really fond of polka dot patterns, I’m unsure if I like the cloth wrinkled (to add texture) or ironed flat. Next time I get fabric I think I’m in need of a blood red background for the dangerous ladies! Also you might have noticed I’ve tried to put in more effort in my lighting. It’s not perfect yet but I think I made a big step in the right direction. I used all the advice everyone gave me and used white poster to reflect light, all spectrum bulbs, and tracing paper to disperse the light better.
First Haul of 2009
January 19, 2009
Now THIS is how you start off a year! I was really excited by this particular haul, had a lot of beauties and cuties. The lighting on the picture of the whole haul sucks because it was night by the time I got home and I was just SO EXCITED and ready to open them and place them on my shelves that I rushed. I’ve been collecting figures for over a year now and the sight of a haul like this still makes me act beside myself with excitment. Hopefully the pictures of each individual figure below will make up for this crummy one.
