Melissa Seraphy (Wagamama Capriccio) Good Smile Company

This is Melissa Seraphy from Wagamama Capriccio, she is a Nendoroid from Good Smile Company. Melissa is Nendoroid #36 in the series, also Wagamama Capriccio is an eroge video game that I’ve never played, and have no intentions of playing. I probably wouldn’t even watch the anime if they made one (only because an anime based on a video game always feels like it lacks something vital).

I actually REALLY disliked how the 1/8 scale figure of this character from GSC looked, I know that particular figure is highly sought after right now, and that she is a favorite of DannyChoo’s, but she does very little for me. I think the character has some very cute characteristics that appeal to me, I love the pointy ears, fang, crown, and curls…but I thought that big pumpkin looks so silly on her slender little body. Although this is a fault purely with the character design, GSC did a wonderful job representing her in the figure. But that big stupid pumpkin…looks really endearing and cute in the nendoroid in my opinion. She looks a lot less like an upside down lollipop, it’s almost like this character was meant to be a nendoroid! So I am one of the few individuals that prefer the Melissa Seraphy Nendoroid over the 1/8 figure!

That face is so damn cute, cutest face out of every nendoroid so far. Such a delightful childish smile, makes me happy just looking at it. This is my favorite face of all the face choices, I get the impression that this character is the tsundere type from the other face choices. So this face might be out of character but I don’t care. This nendoroid is cast-off (just like it’s full size counterpart) although if you ask me if you want something cast-off a Nendoroid is DEFINITELY not the way to go. She looks silly like that. But the stand design is very nice it come with two pieces, one piece specially goes around her ankles (should you display her pumpkin on) and the other piece allows you to stand her without the pumpkin.

The other arm choices allow you to either have her fists on her hips, and the other hand looks like she is doing a victory sign. But because her hair gets in the way it’s really hard to tell. I really dislike that face on the left, looks awful in my opinion. Might be cute for a brief second in an anime but not something I want to stare at all day long on my shelf. I was able to get this nendoroid from BeNippon, I love that BeNippon tends to have a few figures that linger longer than the other stores. In fact I believe they recently re-stocked on her as well (please note: I’m saying this on 10/27/08) which is great because she is getting to be a pain to find at retail price. There are currently no plans for an official re-release, but you know GSC, there is always a definite possibility of a figure being re-released.

I highly recommend this nendoroid. I like her so much I plan on getting the WonFes ’08 version of her as well. I think the two will look great next to one another, the sweet/innocent Melissa on one side and the mischievous/evil on on the left.
