These figures are of Zoro (Zolo), Nojiko, and Nami and are made by Megahouse. Megahouse earns the title of being my favorite figure company just because they do such a fabulous job representing the One Piece characters in their Portraits of Pirates line. I was THRILLED when I found out that they would be doing a Kid Version line because what really hooked me into One Piece was the background stories of each character from when they were a kid. These are sold separately and each one cost me $20.00. The is the Second Kid Portraits of Pirates Set.
Clare (Claymore) Megahouse
October 20, 2008
This is Clare (some spell it Claire) of the anime/manga Claymore, the figure is by Megahouse. When I first started REALLY keeping tabs on figures last winter I had missed pre-ordering 2 figures that I was very woeful over missing. The first was the Revy by Alter (there are highly unofficial rumors that Alter will re-release Revy) and the 2nd was this figure. Since Megahouse was re-releasing their One Piece line I sat and waited hoping that maybe this Clare to be re-released…and after many months I cracked and bought her from a seller in Japan. I had decided the risk of losing this figure forever was heavier then the risk of paying a bit more and then having her re-released at retail value. There aren’t very many figures I’d crack over and pay almost twice the pre-order value of, but this Clare is DEFINITELY one of them and I’d do it again if something (god forbid) ever happened to my current Clare figure. This is my favorite figure in my collection, not only is it of one of my favorite protagonists, but I think she was captured exceptionally well by Megahouse.
Robin (One Piece) Megahouse
October 8, 2008This is Nico Robin from the anime One Piece, the figure is by Megahouse. Robin is yet another wonderful character from One Piece, of all the characters on the show Nice Robin definitely has the best sense of style. A few of her outfits have a bit of a western theme to them and I think she looks cute in a cowboy hat.
Nami (Megahouse) One Piece
September 25, 2008This is Nami of One Piece, the figure is by Megahouse. There are two PVC figures of Nami by Megahouse, but I only wanted one Nami. I chose this one because I felt it looked the best of the two, both in terms of her outfit and pose. The other figure of Nami is based off an outfit that I don’t believe she ever even wore in the anime, whereas the one I have she definitely wore for an entire story arc. Not to mention she actually has her weapon out in this one and I always favor a figure with a weapon over an unarmed one.
Usopp/Sogeking (Megahouse) One Piece
September 17, 2008This figure is of Usopp dressed as Sogeking, the figure is by Megahouse. Usopp is from the (amazing) anime/manga One Piece. Before I begin babbling about this figure let me say that unless you have a love for One Piece and its amazing character crew you will most likely dislike this figure. I can’t imagine that there is anyone out there that would impulsively buy a figure that looks like this unless they knew and loved the character. Now
I will begin to shower this figure with the immense praise I think it deserves.
One Piece Haul
August 14, 2008If this haul had a theme I’d say it’s One Piece! The Sanji and Luffy re-releases as well as the first wave of the “Young” One Piece line all happened to come out at once! I was also supposed to have a small model of the Thousand Sunny in this haul too, but there were complications
that’ll be a later haul!
Thank goodness for re-releases!! I plan on collecting all the One Piece crew members, and if Megahouse wasn’t doing re-releases I’d never be able to afford it without a guilty conscience. These guys will be joining my Megahouse Franky, Chopper, Nami, and Zoro above the TV. My boyfriend loves One Piece so much too that they’re the only figures that are allowed to creep from the 2nd floor down to the 1st floor in the living room. Although sometimes I wonder what people think of Franky…lets just say Megahouse pays close attention to details and Franky is wearing a speedo…sigh. Not like I don’t look creepy enough without my beloved Franky raising a few eyebrows.
