As I got more and more involved in manga I began to notice that in the character profile pages blood types were mentioned. The first time I saw it I thought the author was just being funny/cute about some irrelevant fact about the character. But soon I began noticing it in all my series. Although I raised an eyebrow at that random fact I never really bothered to look up why it was mentioned. I just thought that blood type was a physical characteristic that the Japanese liked to share and nothing more.
So this is my 2nd Haul of October! I’ve definitely been having a haul drought lately because I’ve been behaving myself a bit better on spending my money (but only a bit). Although I will probably have one more haul before the end of the month, so if you’re bored by the sight of all the manga/books in this haul, wait a couple days and I’ll have a magnificent haul of figures! Mwahahahahaha oh I can’t wait!
This is Melissa Seraphy from Wagamama Capriccio, she is a Nendoroid from Good Smile Company. Melissa is Nendoroid #36 in the series, also Wagamama Capriccio is an eroge video game that I’ve never played, and have no intentions of playing. I probably wouldn’t even watch the anime if they made one (only because an anime based on a video game always feels like it lacks something vital).
So if you’ve seen the post of My Collection you may have noticed that I have a thing for making collages so I thought I’d post pictures of my past rooms over the last few years. Anime collages have filled my room since I was first allowed to decorate my room in Junior High. Almost all the houses I’ve lived in growing up had wallpaper on the walls in the bedrooms so my mom didn’t allow any posters. Eventually (in Junior High) I convinced my mom to let me hang a Titanic poster on my closet door, that was soon followed by a beautiful foil Sailor Moon poster I picked up at Suncoast. Soon not an inch of my doors could be seen with all my magazine clippings. Please keep in mind I was a young and easily amazed pre-teen at the time of having this Titanic poster *sigh…Shakes Head* Titanic is a movie not many girls my age (at the time) escaped. Although I still can’t help but laugh at how shocked I was to see boobs in a movie (I went in not knowing I would see almost all of Kate Winslet). Anyway enough about Titanic…

This series is about Risa Koizumi and Atsushi Otani, Risa is very tall for a girl and Atsushi is very short for a boy. Because of this, they are called the “All Hanshin Kyojin” after a popular comedy duo that has a similar height difference. They happen to be in the same class and people seem to find it humorous to pair the tallest and shortest kids next to one another. Risa comes across a boy from another class during summer school that she develops a crush on and since Atsushi has a crush on her friend they plan to help each other become successful in love despite their heights.
So I generally don’t do magazines that are manga anthologies, I tried the Shojo Beat magazine for the first year it was released, but it just didn’t take with me. There were too few stories I was anxiously reading out of their total lineup, it didn’t seem worth the money to pay for a manga magazine so I let my subscription run out. Heck I even sold the magazines from the first 12 months for about $20 on eBay, so I made some of my money back. I decided it was best just to buy the manga of the series I wanted because it would be cheaper (in the end) and manga takes up less space and is more durable then the magazines. Plus I’m someone who wants to have EVERYTHING, so if I’m going to be involved in a manga anthology I need to have every volume from the beginning, I SIMPLY cannot just hop in at any point in time and feel satisfied! So I had assumed I’d never try a manga anthology again…until Yen+Plus
This is Clare (some spell it Claire) of the anime/manga Claymore, the figure is by Megahouse. When I first started REALLY keeping tabs on figures last winter I had missed pre-ordering 2 figures that I was very woeful over missing. The first was the Revy by Alter (there are highly unofficial rumors that Alter will re-release Revy) and the 2nd was this figure. Since Megahouse was re-releasing their One Piece line I sat and waited hoping that maybe this Clare to be re-released…and after many months I cracked and bought her from a seller in Japan. I had decided the risk of losing this figure forever was heavier then the risk of paying a bit more and then having her re-released at retail value. There aren’t very many figures I’d crack over and pay almost twice the pre-order value of, but this Clare is DEFINITELY one of them and I’d do it again if something (god forbid) ever happened to my current Clare figure. This is my favorite figure in my collection, not only is it of one of my favorite protagonists, but I think she was captured exceptionally well by Megahouse.
